Are you a Seijsener customer? Then we have an important announcement about 2G network.
Dear customer,
We would like to inform you about an important development that may affect the systems that we have supplied to you. Various providers have announced that they will stop supporting their 2G network as of December 1, 2025. This means that from this date, the 2G network will no longer be available for communication.
In our records, we have found that your company has a number of these 2G mobile modems that need to be replaced during. Disabling the 2G network has consequences for the following systems that we have supplied and that use 2G GSM Modem:
- Portadail intercom systems at barriers
- GSM switching modules in barriers and signaling systems such as sewer pumps
- Modems for On/Off.NET cabinets
- Modems for Shore Power Cabinets
- Modems for Market Power Cabinets
- Modems for Truck power cabinets
- Modems for Miele washbasins
All these modems are equipped with a 2G chip, so they can only connect via the 2G network. Once the 2G network is shut down in 2025, these installations will no longer function properly or even completely fail. It is therefore crucial for you to take timely measures.
To ensure the continuity of your systems, we offer the following solutions:
Portadail Intercom Systems: We can offer an LTE version that replaces the complete Portadail module.
GSM switching modules: These can be replaced with an LTE version that is currently available.
For installations with a GSM connection prior to 2021, the 2G modems must be replaced by LTE modems. For systems delivered after 2021, LTE modems have already been installed and no further actions are necessary.
Based on our data, we will soon make you a proposal to replace these modems and the associated new LTE network card. After your agreement, we will schedule the work in consultation with you, with the aim of minimizing inconvenience to your business. We also recommend that you contact us as soon as possible to discuss the necessary adjustments and make an appointment to replace the 2G modems. This way, we can ensure that your systems continue to function smoothly after the shutdown of the 2G network.
For questions or to schedule an appointment, please contact our customer service at +31 (0) 75 6810610 or helpdesk@seijsener.nl. Our specialists are here to help you with this transition and answer any questions you may have.
